look, i'm an astronaut!

i blame taylor.

scrounging for beer money since he's hurt and can't ride, he twisted my arm to join the likes of anthony, dave, and mr. sasquatch for a rally-run up to the top of apex, only to pick us up at the bottom and drop yet again at the top of chimney, this time w/ hillary in place of matt.

once again, mr. sloan hooked me up w/ a ride from the YETI toybox– this time a carbon 575. all i can say is that i've severely underestimated the impact that technology (read: travel, braking) can have on speed. the head angle and fork rake make small work of anything that finds its way under the front tire. certainly allows one to be faster, if not sloppier. now i don't feel quite so bad, wondering why i'm always struggling to keep up (on the downhill), as i'm usually on the "smallest" bike w/ the tracer. is a bigger bike in my future? time will tell.

post-ride partay started at GCB, though it was commencement day for the school of mines (madness), so we ended up at casa de MTB for some (more) beer and anthony's pizza (no relation).

now i'm officially part of the problem as well as the solution– death to shuttlers! long live shuttlers!

distance DOWN ONLY
(now playing: peter gabriel)
