d@mn the wind!

sun was out, the still a chill in the air. met greg at the zorro parking lot, and rode south to BCLP. good conditions and a decent pace. dodging in to the trees, i see that lakewood has built two new bridges over the swampy/mudfest that plagued us at TKMBD last fall (though what kid doesn't like to get dirty?). up and over the back side of the dam then round to the north to hit up GM. sure enough, as we start up bear creek ave, the wind kicks in. we enter GM from the east, and head around the southern perimeter back west toward the TH lot at zorro. now it is just ridiculous, as in blow-you-off-the-trail gusts... to the point where you had to pedal to go downhill.

we finished just in time, as the temp dropped dramatically (i stopped to put on the fleece headband for the ears just before the final ascent). brrr. back at the jeep i noticed i lost my pump and spare tube from the waistpack. D'OH!

gotta love CO. start a ride in january a bit sweaty, and finish up chilled to the bone. good stuff.
